Statement
Textile and material experimentation informed by history, handcraft, mechanization, myth, and sociology are the basis for my wearable and non-wearable works. Explorations of the industrial revolution, connections we form to objects, and study of textile and fibers are the primary ideas most often elaborated on in each of my works. I hope to question and explore how clothes engage with the body and how this can be a way to form appreciation and understanding of craft, necessary for the possibility of sustainability in design. My work is deeply informed by The Meaning of Things by Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi and Chronomanual Craft by Mole Leigh.
