Disobedient Bodies Prompt - August 2025

Deadstock satin, broken knitting machine needles

Collection and dress made from a knitting needle textile manipulation, inspired by automated machinery and acute repetitions.

This project was the result of three weeks intensive fashion design study at Central Saint Martins College of Art.

Influence came from the durational performance "Frau Fiber VS. The Circular Tube Sock Knitting Machine," the Lowell Mill girls' history in labor reform, Buckminster Fuller's geodesic domes and ideals of the 'total environment', and the works of Cathy De Monchaux and Ruth Asawa.
