These are first trials in a long-term project to grow bacterial scoby leather from kombucha, one possible route for the future of zero-waste, ethical and sustainable leather. Samples measure roughly 4" in diameter and 1/8" thickness.
This page will be updated as my next larger piece of bacterial leather is harvested, treated, and sewn into a wearable piece.
